Michael Vick, today you officially admitted your guilt and attributed it to "immaturity". Listen, Michael, "immaturity" is launching spit balls - not murdering pit bulls. What you did can be chalked up to an evil nature. But, I guess you've got that covered now, since you've "found Jesus" and turned your life over to God and "aksed" forgiveness. Now you can be clothed in His righteousness - right?
One can only hope and pray that you truly will turn your life around - it's too late for those dogs that you tortured to death - but I believe they are in a better, kinder place.
Now that you have invited the Lord into your heart I suppose you'll be reading The Good Book. Here's a good verse for you to meditate on: "A righteous man regards the life of his animal." (Proverbs 12:10)
I do believe in forgiveness and redemption - and I do believe that God can dramatically change people's lives - so I hope you are sincere and I do wish you the best in your new life in Christ. Once you have served your time, and I hope you do get a sentence that sends a loud message, I believe you should be allowed a fresh start. Your past actions have at least increased awareness of the horrors of dog fighting - now, I think that rather than continuing to crucify you, our energies are best spent educating the public, hopefully bringing this brutal practice to an end once and for all.

Hey, give the guy a chance at redemption! Paris Hilton found Jesus, too! She said he was "hot"... Seriously, though, I watched his apology today & almost gagged. I honestly got the feeling that he was laying it on thick because he really wants to come back & play football. And he blatantly lied when he said he accepted "full responsibility for his actions from the start"... Whatever, Ookie. You lied to Arthur Blank, your mother, Roger Goodell, your team, your fans & everyone else involved. I'll believe you're a changed man when I see it. I won't fall for some vapid, plastic apology directed by your attorneys - I want to see a truly changed man after you serve your sentence. I want to see you "grow up" and become a real role model to all those kids who worshipped you - just not in an NFL uniform. Maybe you can work in an animal shelter for a few years and learn how to respect less powerful beings. Maybe you can one day learn that animals are wonderful, joyous creatures that deserve our compassion and care. So tell me you found Jesus all you want, Michael, but words mean nothing to me.
Well, said Cricket!! Jesus can change lives and he will change Vick if he lets the Holy Spirit work in his heart. I have to agree with Cricket on the second chance when he does his hard time. However, I also have to give Bageera props too. How many times have we heard people call on Jesus in down times? I will believe it when I see it. He has a lot to prove to the world and he needs to get going with that. I pray that God will work in his heart and that he will take care of those poor 50 dogs on his property. Good luck Vick! You have a long way to go!!!
Did you watch the "Waiting for an Angel" video, SILK? If not, it's very well done and a bit disturbing. The images on this vid show the tip of the dogfighting iceberg, I'm sad to say. And THIS activity was what Vick was involved in for who knows how many years? It takes a hell of a lot to remove this kind of evil from a man's heart and soul. I'm not saying I don't believe in miracles, but redemption doesn't come easily to those who cannot find true humility.
Well, God can change that evil in his, and our, heart in one second. Think about the thief on the cross with Jesus. He was changed and went to Heaven just becasue he asked Jesus to forgive him. Our heart is very wicked but God came to save us from that sin in our heart. Also, God sees sin as sin. I know you will not believe this but my sin of lust is just as bad as killing dogs. I need just as much forgiveness as Vick. We all do! Vick will be changed if he lets God work in his heart. I believe that because Jesus said it!
Typically I do not like to get into religious discussions here because I believe religion is extremely personal and a sensitive issue. I have many friends from many religious backgrounds who read &/or comment here... However, I do believe anyone can be forever changed by God, and I'm willing to give anyone who has failed the chance to redeem him/herself. I am always cynical about celebrities and athletes who have been caught for some type of criminal or abhorrent activity, and when faced with punishment, they suddenly find Jesus. More often than not it's an attempt to gain public favor and a more lenient punsihment.
Ya know, you think with all the money he has, he would have paid someone to write a better speech. Honestly, I just wanted to throw up.
I know people make mistakes and do stupid shit, but there are consequences to the actions you take. He should go to prison for his behavior~ for a while. I'm tired of seeing celebrities get out of the consequences of their behavior because they line someone's pockets with cash.

I agree with you Butterfly! Money is the driving source here...I just hope Judge Henry Hudson cannot be bought.
i agree with you bagheera on the Jesus when i am down and out speach. Butterfly is also right , in my mind, about celebs getting off easy for stuff we would be griled for. I am with you both but i just want to say God can change him if he lets God in his heart. do i believe him? well, no not right now. i am welling to give him a chance because God gives us many chances.
